Volunteers for a health watchdog in Cornwall are to help monitor local health and social care providers.

Healthwatch Cornwall said, once registered and trained, volunteers would make announced and unannounced so-called "enter and view" visits.

They would visit hospitals, doctors' surgeries, care homes and day centres, it said.

Their work would help ensure standards were met and people were satisfied with care given, it added.
