A woman has been thrown through a betting shop window by a car in Cornwall.

She suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a blue Citroen in Camborne at 09:50 BST, police said.

Witnesses told officers the vehicle was driving the wrong way down a one-way street in the town centre.

The woman, who is in her 70s and from the town, remains in a serious condition at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske.

The junction with Trelowarren Street and Basset Road was closed following the incident.

The driver was shaken but not injured, a force spokeswoman added.
