A French fisherman has been airlifted from a boat in the sea off the Isles of Scilly suffering from heart problems.

The man was on the vessel about 70 miles (113km) from the Isles of Scilly, Falmouth Coastguard said.

He was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske, by a rescue helicopter from the Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose in Helston, on Friday evening.

The fisherman's condition is unknown.
