Woman dies and man seriously injured in A39 Kilkhampton crash

A woman has died and a man has been seriously injured in a crash on the A39 in north Cornwall.

The woman, in her 40s, was driving a Ford van which was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo being driven by a Bideford man, also in his 40s.

The crash happened at about 07:15 GMT two miles (3km) from Kilkhampton. The woman was declared dead at the scene.

The man was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.

It is hoped the road, which closed after the crash, will re-open by 17:00 GMT.
