Pedestrian struck by lorry on A30 at Temple

A pedestrian has suffered serious head and leg injuries after being hit by a lorry on an A-road in Cornwall.

The 42-year-old from Launceston was hit by the lorry at about 20:00 GMT on Tuesday near Temple on the A30.

Police said it was believed the man had been walking from Bodmin to Launceston when he was struck by the vehicle from behind.

Devon and Cornwall Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
