Western Power man dies after falling from electricity pole

A 30-year-old man, working for Western Power Distribution (WPD) has died after falling from an electricity pole in South East Cornwall.

Police arrived at the scene in Cawsand at about 21:20 GMT on Wednesday.

The man, from Grampound, died from his injuries when the pole collapsed.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has begun an investigation. WPD said it will not be releasing a statement but its heartfelt condolences are with the man's family.
