A walker who fell ill was rescued from moorland in Cornwall in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Cornwall Search and Rescue (SAR) service was called to search an area of Bodmin Moor at about 03:00 GMT.

Eleven members of the voluntary team were involved in the three-hour search and rescue operation around Minions. The walker, in his 20s, was on his own.

The man was found "very wet and cold" and taken to hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Cornwall SAR is made up of 60 volunteers and deals with about 60 call-outs each year.
