Car plunges down 50ft Newquay embankment

A car driver has been cut free from a vehicle after it plunged 50ft (15m) down an embankment in Cornwall.

Nearly 20 firefighters were called after the car came off the road on the A3075, at Rejerrah, Newquay, on Monday evening. No other vehicles were involved.

Crews used lines to stabilise the vehicle, the fire service said.

A second occupant was out of the vehicle and being treated by paramedics when fire crews arrived, it added.
