Muslim support group started in Cornwall by Amy Lewis

A convert to Islam in Cornwall has started a support group for Muslim women in the county.

Amy Lewis, from Falmouth, who grew up a Christian, became a Muslim four years ago.

She said the group, which has a page on Facebook, would offer support to anyone who felt isolated in the county.

Ms Lewis added that Islam, which has an estimated three million followers in the UK, was a peaceful religion and she wanted to be a "positive presence".

She said she wanted to counter hatred she had encountered.
