Truro pedestrian dies in A390 road accident

A man has died after being knocked down by a car in Cornwall.

The accident, which involved a silver Kia Rio, happened at about 00:30 BST on the A390 at Penstraze, Truro.

Emergency services were called to the incident, but the pedestrian died later from his injuries. He has not yet been named.

Devon and Cornwall Police have appealed for witnesses. The road, which was closed for six hours for crash investigators, has reopened.
