Perranporth beach clean to collect tonne of litter

A tonne of marine litter is expected to be collected from one of Cornwall's busiest beaches in a day-long clean-up operation, a campaign group has said.

Members of Surfers Against Sewage are carrying out the clean-up of Perranporth beach.

The volunteers said they would be cleaning other beaches in the county every week until August.

The Marine Conservation Society is cleaning Gunwalloe beach on the Lizard. Cornwall's Seal Sanctuary is assisting.
