Newquay bar Haoles Surf Club loses licence

A club in Cornwall has had its licence revoked after police received more than 30 complaints about noise.

The licence for Haoles Surf Club in Newquay was rescinded by Cornwall Council's licensing sub committee.

The action means the premises cannot sell alcohol or provide regulated entertainment to the public.

The council's environmental department and Devon and Cornwall Police said they had investigated more than 30 complaints about loud music since July.

Cornwall Council said it had served the premises with a noise abatement notice and confiscated the speakers and amplification equipment before the decision was taken to remove the licence.
