More people claim jobseeker's allowance in Cornwall

The number of people out of work in Cornwall and claiming jobseeker's allowance has risen slightly, official figures show.

December figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has risen to 10,226 an increase of 589 on November.

This represents 3.1% of the county's working population, which remains below the 3.8% national average.

Across the UK, unemployment has risen to 2,685m, the highest level since the summer of 1994.
