New bakery opens at Eden Project after flooding
A new bakery has opened at the Eden Project in an area of the site's main eating area, which was badly damaged by last November's floods.
The flooding closed down the Cornish attraction for a week.
The new bakery has led to four new jobs and there are plans for an apprenticeship scheme for local people.
Other parts of the attraction that were badly hit were the link building, the main visitor centre and the core education building.
Eden Managing Director, Gaynor Coley, said: "The flood was devastating but it enabled us to really sharpen our thinking about how we present the vital relationship between plants and food.
"With the new Eden Bakery we're celebrating food and its virtues with an artisan bakery on a grand scale."
Tony Tremerry, a chef at the Eden Project, said: "We'll be using Cornish flour. The type of bread we will make will change on a daily basis. It's what we can get on our doorstep."
