Man admits raping girl in Cornwall

A 57-year-old man from Cornwall has admitted raping and indecently assaulting a girl when she was aged 12 and 13.

Tony Barrett, of Landreath Place, St Blazey, pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and two of indecent assault at Truro Crown Court.

Recorder Martin Meeke QC warned him that "a substantial sentence of imprisonment is inevitable".

He was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced in October.
