Mawgan Porth sea rescue man airlifted to hospital

A man has been rescued after getting into difficulties in the sea off Cornwall on Monday evening.

Falmouth Coastguard said the man, believed to be in his 20s, was semi-conscious when he was pulled from the water at Mawgan Porth, near Newquay.

He was rescued by three members of the public who heard his calls for help and he was taken to hospital in Truro by the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

His condition is not known.
