A few days later another teenager fell to his death from cliffs in the town.
Found on beachMr Curwell, a member of Leeds Rhinos rugby league club, had finished his A-levels and gone on holiday with friends from Rishworth School in Halifax.
The group was on a pub crawl when Mr Curwell noticed he had lost his wallet and split up with his friends to look for it.
He fell 150ft (46m) from cliffs near the Trebarwith Hotel and was found on the beach below the next morning.
He was almost two times over the drink drive limit.
