Cambridgeshire police police detective arrested after sex assault

A Cambridgeshire Police detective has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and misconduct in a public office.

Police said the officer, believed to be Det Sgt Matt Swash, 39, based at the March Police Station, had been suspended from duty while inquiries were carried out.

He is being investigated by the force's professional standards department.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said he had been released on police bail.

The spokesman said the police could not comment further at this stage.
