Wisbech hit-and-run driver caught on camera

19 December 2013 Last updated at 16:52 GMT

A driver who deliberately mowed down a pedestrian has been jailed for 12 years.

Adam Reeve, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, swerved into his victim beside Falcon Road in the town in June last year. The 25-year-old victim was thrown into the air while Reeve sped off.

Reeve then re-sprayed the Vauxhall Astra to try to cover his tracks. His victim was in hospital for a week. Police say it was a miracle he was not killed or more seriously injured.

Reeve has also been banned from driving for five years. He had denied causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.
