Addenbrooke's Hospital plans second smoking ban

27 November 2013 Last updated at 15:11 GMT

Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge is to ban smoking on its grounds for a second time as NHS hospitals and clinics in England are urged to do the same.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence said it wanted to see smoking shelters scrapped so patients, visitors and staff could not light up.

Addenbrooke's already has rules about where people can smoke but they are often ignored. It banned smoking on site in 2006 but found it unenforceable.

Ben Bland reports on reaction to the latest ban.
