Occupants of Peterborough hit-and-run car sought

The occupants of a car that failed to stop at the scene of a fatal collision involving two cars in Peterborough are being sought by police.

The collision happened on the junction between Broadway and Princes Gate just before 23:00 GMT on Good Friday.

The driver of a Suzuki Swift, 37-year-old Omar Mirza of Ferndale Way, Dogsthorpe, died at the scene.

The other vehicle, a Renault Megane with at least two people inside was driven off.

The police helicopter was called in, but did not find the Megane.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
