Stephen Fry NCFC scarf: Man denies theft from shop

Stephen Fry's scarf donated to Age UK The scarf was on display to publicise Age UK's winter campaign

A man has denied stealing a Norwich City FC scarf donated to a charity by the broadcaster Stephen Fry.

Fry was one of a number of celebrities to donate coats and scarves to Age UK's Spread the Warmth campaign to support the elderly in winter.

It was taken from a charity shop in Peteborough earlier this month.

Shepherd Gandi, 41, of Percival Street, Peterborough, appeared before city magistrates and denied theft by finding.

Mr Ghandi was bailed until a hearing at the same court next week.

Fry, who grew up in Norfolk, is a lifelong supporter of the Canaries and is often seen at Carrow Road with majority shareholder Delia Smith.
