Peterborough double stabbing: Andrejus Rulyevas in court

A man accused of the murder and attempted murder of two men in Cambridgeshire has appeared in court.

Andrejus Rulyevas, 21, of no fixed address, was arrested in Ely on Friday and charged after the stabbing of two men in Peterborough on Wednesday.

Saulius Grigoravicius, 20, died at the scene of the attack on Gilpin Street. The other man was taken to hospital.

Mr Rulyevas appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody.

He will attend a hearing at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Grigoravicius had been stabbed in the heart, police said.

The second man injured in the attack, aged in his 20s, was released from hospital on Friday. Both men are believed to be from Lithuania.
