Man charged over shooting at Peterborough travellers' site

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting at a travellers' site in Peterborough.

Three men suffered gunshot wounds at the site at Oxney Road shortly after 10:00 BST on 17 September.

Fred Smith, 46, of Edgerley Drain Road, Peterborough, appeared before magistrates earlier charged with possession of a firearm and three counts of wounding with intent.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on 12 October.

The offences are alleged to have been committed against Thomas Holmes, James Holmes and Tony Draper.
