Littleport nursing home evacuated in fire

A nursing home in Cambridgeshire has been evacuated after a fire broke out in its roof.

Part of the roof of the home on Grange Lane, Littleport, was removed to allow crews to get to the flames in the roof space of the three-storey building.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said they received a call at 14:25 BST and sent firefighters from Ely, Soham, Littleport and Cambridge.

A spokesman said the fire was brought under control by 16:20 BST.

No casualties have been reported.
