Murdered man died from stab wound in Peterborough house

A man found dead in Peterborough died of a stab wound to the heart, a post-mortem examination has shown.

He has been identified as Duncan Bell, 36, of Winyates in Orton Goldhay.

His body was found at Hetley, Orton Goldhay, at 04:00 BST on Sunday after a call from a member of the public and his death is being treated as murder.

The body of a 65-year-old man was found at Peterborough Crematorium later and a post-mortem examination revealed no suspicious circumstances.

The two deaths are being linked by police and the property in Hetley remains cordoned off.

The man found dead at about 08:30 BST at the crematorium in North Bretton was named as Roy Allison, of Hetley.

Both post-mortem examinations were carried out on Monday at Peterborough City Hospital.

Det Insp Liz Mead said: "Inquiries are continuing into the tragic set of circumstances that appear to have led to these two deaths and we remain in contact with the families of both men."
