Inquiry after two bodies found in Peterborough

Police are linking the deaths of two men whose bodies were found at separate locations in Peterborough.

A man in his 30s was found dead when police were called to a house in Orton Goldhay at about 04:00 BST on Sunday.

The body of a man in his 60s was found in the grounds of the city crematorium at about 08:30 BST. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police have started a murder inquiry into the younger man's death and said they are not looking for anyone else.

Det Insp Liz Mead, said: "We are now carrying out extensive inquiries to find out exactly what happened.

"We are in contact with the families of both men and will be keeping them up-to-date on our inquiries.

"This appears to be have been a tragic set of circumstances which we are treating as an isolated incident."

Post-mortem examinations on both men, who have yet to be named, will be carried out at Peterborough City Hospital later.
