New and improved transport links have been launched in Bristol by the city's biggest bus operator, First Group.

The company said the "significant" alterations to its service are in response to a number of factors including the opening of the new Southmead Hospital.

Changes include more frequent services between Bristol and Yate and new links to the hospital, which opens in May.

Improved Sunday and public holiday services have also been introduced.

First Group's Simon Ford said the changes are "significant" and "will benefit a great many people".

He said the new links have been brought in following a full consultation with South Gloucestershire Council.

A full list of the changes to bus services in and around Bristol can be found on the First Group website.
