Park-and-ride smart card scheme begins in Bristol

A cashless travel card scheme which can be used for park-and-ride travel in Bristol has launched.

Similar to London's Oyster Card system, park-and-ride buses will be equipped with travel card readers and commuters can load their cards with credit for multiple trips.

Bristol City Council's Steve Pearce said: "This is terrific news for the travelling public in Bristol."

If the scheme is a success it will be rolled out to all buses in the city.
