An inquest into the death of a 22-month-old girl who fell to her death from a block of flats in Bristol has found she died accidentally.

Muna Abdirazak fell from the third floor of Polden House in Windmill Hill last July. She was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital but died later.

Recording her verdict, Avon Coroner Maria Voisin made no recommendations or criticism in relation to the death.

She added that the circumstances of how Muna died remained unclear.

"It's likely she woke from sleeping, climbed on to a chair and table, and fell out of an open window," Mrs Voisin said.

A spokesman for Bristol City Council who own the flats, said it extended its deepest condolences to the family for their loss.

"We note the finding of the coroner's court that this was a tragic accident," he said.

"All of the flats in the block where the fall happened had replacement, double glazed windows that met British Standards and included restrictors which prevented the windows from being completely opened."
