Bristol-to-Taunton railway line re-opens

The flood-hit railway line between Taunton and Bristol Temple Meads has re-opened.

First Great Western said there will initially be a reduced service because of the severe damage caused at Bridgwater.

There will be a shuttle train service between Taunton and Weston-Super-Mare, calling at Bridgwater and Highbridge.

First Great Western has also announced that Cross Country trains will be running.

The service between Exeter St Davids and Bristol Temple Meads will call at Taunton, Bridgwater and Highbridge although passengers have been warned the journey will take longer than normal.
