Bristol stab victim named as Nicholas Robinson by police

A 19-year-old man who was found fatally stabbed close to a busy road in Bristol has been named by police.

Nicholas Robinson, who lived in Jamaica Street, was found stabbed in Lower Gay Street, close to Stokes Croft, on Wednesday evening.

Det Ch Insp Andy Bevan said the victim had been attacked in a communal stairwell at Ron Jones House, after leaving his flat at about 20:30 GMT.

Two men and a woman were arrested and later released on bail.

Mr Bevan said Mr Robinson was attacked as he reached the first floor of Ron Jones House.

"He suffered a number of stab wounds and ran out of the premises and ran about fifty metres into an enclosed car parking area in Lower Gay Street," he said.

"Despite being treated at the scene by paramedics, he died at the scene from his injuries."

According to police, the offender left the building following the attack and turned right into Stokes Croft.

Anyone who witnessed a man leaving the building and running from the area at about 20:30 GMT on Wednesday is being urged to contact the police.
