Bristol man charged with child rape and sex offences

A 19-year-old man accused of raping a girl has become the 16th person to be charged as part of Bristol child sexual exploitation inquiry Operation Brooke.

Omar Jumale, from Bristol, is charged with raping a girl under the age of 15, as well as engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Police are examining claims of sexual exploitation involving girls aged between 13 and 17, in the city.

Mr Jumale appeared before Bristol Crown Court on Thursday.

He appeared before magistrates on Saturday when he was remanded into custody.
