Salisbury man arrested over Bristol street rape

A man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a Bristol street.

Avon and Somerset Police said the 24-year-old woman was attacked in the early hours of 15 December in St Michael's Park, Clifton, and near to Alfred Place in Kingsdown, after becoming separated from her friends.

A force spokesman said the woman had reported the attack on Friday.

The arrested 27-year-old, from Salisbury, Wiltshire, has been bailed until 21 March.
