Clevedon firm's ex-staff sought in 1990s sex offences inquiry

Police investigating sexual offences against two boys in North Somerset more than 20 years ago are trying to find former employees of a Clevedon firm.

Detectives said a man contacted them in September to report historical sexual offences against himself and another victim, dating back to the early 1990s.

Police said the firm, Cam Gears, which is no longer trading, was "not directly involved".

A 71-year-old man has been arrested and bailed until February.

Det con Andy Eastwood said: "I would like to make it clear the firm, which is no longer trading, is not directly involved in this investigation but it is believed people who worked there may have information which could help us progress this inquiry."

Anyone who worked at Cam Gears in the late 1980s and early 1990s is being asked to contact the police.
