Stabbed Robert Cox's police contact probed by IPCC
A man's dealings with police on the day he was fatally stabbed is to be investigated by the police watchdog.
Robert Cox, 24, was found stabbed outside a building in Egerton Road, Bishopston, Bristol, on 9 August.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission will look at his contact with officers and call centre staff on the day and with the Avon and Somerset force in the three months beforehand.
Derek Hancock, 41, also of Egerton Road, is accused of Mr Cox's murder.
He is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court next month.
The IPCC said it had taken statements from three police call handlers and two police officers and was studying CCTV footage.
"There is a parallel murder investigation and that does constrain how much information we can put into the public domain at this stage," an IPCC spokeswoman said.
