Dr Michael Chongkee Lok sentenced for indecent child photo
A doctor from Bristol has been given a community order for taking an indecent photograph of a child in a public pool.
Bristol Crown Court was told Michael Chongkee Lok, 50, from Kingswood, filmed people on a phone at Bath University Sports Village in November and December.
At a previous hearing he admitted the charge and seven counts of voyeurism.
He was sentenced to a three-year community order, which includes a sex offenders treatment programme.
The doctor was also given a sexual offences prevention order and placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
He will have to attend a General Medical Council hearing in the near future.
Lok worked in the accident and emergency department at Swindon's Great Western Hospital.'Gross misconduct'
A hospital spokeswoman said as soon as it was informed of the charges the member of staff was suspended pending the outcome of the police investigation and court case.
"Now that this is complete we will conclude disciplinary proceedings for gross misconduct.
"Dr Lok will not be returning to work in our trust," she added.
A University of Bath spokesman said its staff were trained to be vigilant and deal with any concerns in a professional and prompt manner.
"In this particular case, as soon as our staff were alerted to the incident we contacted the police and assisted them with their inquiries.
"The person in question was immediately banned from the sport training village pending the outcome of those inquiries."
