Bristol magistrate Tim Marter in court over gun licence

A Bristol magistrate has appeared before a court charged with breaching his firearms licence.

Tim Marter, who is also a Conservative councillor in North Somerset, appeared before Swindon Crown Court earlier charged with possessing ammunition without a certificate.

Mr Marter, who had not been arrested, entered a plea of not guilty at Chippenham Magistrates' Court in March.

He is due at Swindon Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing on 31 May.
