Rapist absconder Sean Cawthray handed himself in

A convicted rapist who went missing from an open prison in South Gloucestershire in December handed himself in to Humberside police.

Police said Sean Cawthray, 41, handed himself in to them on 3 February and appeared before Beverley Magistrates' Court the next day.

On 13 February he was sentenced at Hull Crown Court to 12 months in jail to run concurrently with his existing life sentence.

He is held at a higher security prison.
