Bristol experts in Antarctic study
A project has got under way to explore the limits of life on Earth in Antarctica.
Led by scientists from the University of Bristol, the work is being done with the British Antarctic Survey.
Scientists have begun drilling through the ice sheet to search for signs of life in a lake deep underground.
Its pitch-black waters have remained isolated and unseen for hundreds of thousands of years.
