Long delays on M4 eastbound after earlier accident
Traffic has been diverted along the A4 and M49
Drivers on the M4 around Bristol were severely delayed after an earlier closure on the motorway.
The stretch between junctions 20 and 22 was shut at 11:00 BST after a lorry overturned but has since reopened.
At 17:30 BST traffic in the area was reported as being "extremely congested" with queues eastbound stretching back to the Second Severn Crossing.
Avon and Somerset Police said there were no reported injuries but warned drivers of major traffic disruption.
The delays also caused congestion at junction 19 of the M4 and on the M32 heading out of Bristol.
