Bristol honours Kenyan sportsman Kipchoge "Kip" Keino
Mr Keino's name will be added to the city's list of freemen
The chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya has been given the freedom of the city of Bristol.
Kipchoge "Kip" Keino is currently in Bristol as part of the Kenyan Olympic and Paralympic teams who are training in the city.
Mr Keino received the award at a special meeting of Bristol City Council on Thursday.
The 70-year-old's name will now be added to Bristol's roll of honorary freemen of the city.
The Kenyan athletes are currently using sporting facilities at Filton College and the University of the West of England to train ahead of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
