Bristol bus passenger, 88, breaks neck and dies

An 88-year-old woman has died after breaking her neck when the driver of the Bristol bus she was travelling in braked sharply to avoid a car.

The pensioner was a passenger on a First bus which was travelling along Southmead Road towards Golf Course Lane at about 11:35 BST on Wednesday.

Avon and Somerset Police want to speak to the driver of a car described as small and rusty-brown coloured.

The woman stopped and shouted at the bus driver before driving off.
