Beach shack man allowed to stay by Exmoor National Park

A man who has spent 28 years living in a beachside shack in West Somerset has won his battle to be allowed to stay.

Officials at Exmoor National Park had originally told David Burgess he would have to leave the site at Embelle Wood, but have now changed their mind.

A spokesperson said they had reached "a mutually satisfactory agreement" which allows Mr Burgess to continue using the site for occasional use.
