Plans to sell off more than 40 green spaces across Bristol have been given the go-ahead by the council's scrutiny committee.

It is thought £16m could be raised from the sites earmarked for development and they will be sold off gradually over the next 20 years.

Protesters have raised concerns about loss of wildlife and open spaces.

Councillors backed the move in December. The scrutiny panel voted not to take any action on Thursday.
