Bristol Airport hotel plan approved by councillors
Plans for a 251-room on-site hotel at Bristol Airport have been approved by North Somerset Council.
Work could start as soon as next year and be completed by the end of 2012, it is claimed.
The development, to be sited 100m from the terminal, is expected to generate 140 full-time jobs.
Airport bosses said it would allow passengers travelling from far afield to stay overnight before catching an early morning flight.
The hotel is part of the airport's £150m expansion plan.
Last month, the plans cleared the final hurdle when the secretary of state decided not to "call in" the proposals, despite fierce campaigning against opponents.
