Duty free goods worth £400,000 stolen in Avonmouth

Jewellery, alcohol, tobacco and perfumes worth about £400,000 have been stolen from a warehouse at Avonmouth near Bristol.

The theft happened on Saturday at Harding Brothers, which supplies duty free goods to cruise liners.

Police said it was a very well-planned and organised burglary.

Det Con Shaun Screen said: "More than one offender was involved and a vehicle would have been needed to transport such a large amount of stock."

He urged anyone with information about the raid, or who has been offered any of the goods for sale, to contact police.
