A canal in Birmingham has reopened after repairs to fix a leak into a disused railway tunnel.

A 200m (650ft) section of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, outside the Mailbox, was closed last month after water was found to be escaping.

The bottom has been relined with a new layer of clay to make it watertight.

A Canal and River Trust spokesman said more work was required than first anticipated but he was delighted it had been finished before Easter.
