Shrewsbury enthusiast's classic car collection auctioned

28 August 2014 Last updated at 20:00 BST

A collection of classic cars which were badly damaged under a leaking roof where they were being stored have fetched £12,000 at auction in Shropshire.

Many of the 30 cars being auctioned in Shrewsbury have connections to the car industry in Birmingham.

Andrew Newport, who built up the collection over 40 years, said it was time for them to go to someone else who can "enjoy them or make use of them".

A 1951 Austin A90 Atlantic attracted the highest bid of £2,000.
