Birmingham street sleeper attacks ambulance crew

A man sleeping rough in the street attacked two paramedics and three vehicles when he was woken up.

He was found asleep in the Digbeth area of Birmingham at 07:30 BST.

When the paramedics eventually roused him, he assaulted the pair and then turned on nearby vehicles including an ambulance.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and is being quizzed by police.
